Mustang Mad Dash
Saturday, August 16, 2025, 1-6:30 PMThe Mustang Mad Dash is a great way to learn about life at DGS! Freshmen and transfer students are placed in small groups of approximately 10 students with two or three leaders who are sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Throughout the afternoon, students will:
- Listen to an inspirational keynote speaker
- Attend a workshop about making the most out of high school
- Learn about how to have a successful freshman year
- View student-created skits about common issues they’ll face in high school
- Take a general tour of the building, and have the opportunity to find their classrooms
- Ask questions and get advice from upperclassmen, and make new friends
- Have a provided snack and some social time to meet their new classmates
Registration Details
- All registration will be done through Infinite Campus. Registration opens on July 1.
Instructions on How to Register for Mad Dash
- No refunds will be issued if students do not attend the event.
- Students who qualify for a school fee waiver will not be charged for this event.
Cost: $20.00 (includes t-shirt & snack)
Online registration deadline: Monday, August 11, 2025
(Walk-in registration is permitted, with a walk-in registration cost of $30)
Important Mustang Mad Dash Event Information
Participants will receive their official Mustang Mad Dash T-shirt during the event. Appropriate casual school dress is required.
Students will be expected to follow all school rules and regulations.
Participants must arrive at the West Events Entrance between 12:30 and 1:00 p.m. They are expected to arrive on time and stay for the entire event. Entry to the event is prohibited after 1:30 p.m. Parents must come into the school and sign their student out if they choose to leave early. Students must be promptly picked up at the West Events Entrance at 6:30 p.m.
We are happy to accommodate students with special needs. Please contact us before the event if your student has any special needs or circumstances (physical limitations, mental health concerns, etc.). Students with dietary restrictions are welcome to bring their own snacks.
