Student Records

Downers Grove South High School maintains educational records for all students. These records consist of two types: permanent records and temporary records. If you have any questions regarding student records, please contact the school registrar.

Permanent Records

The student's permanent records consist of basic identifying information, academic transcripts, attendance records, accident reports and health records.

No other information will be placed in the student’s permanent record.

The permanent record will be kept by the school district for 60 years after graduation or permanent withdrawal.

Temporary Records

The student's temporary record consists of all information that is clearly relevant to the student's education but is not required to be in the student’s permanent record. It may include family background information, test results, and teacher evaluations. All temporary records will be destroyed five years after graduation or permanent withdrawal.

Upon graduation, temporary records will be released to the student.
