Scholarships
Local Scholarships
We live in an area that supports students with several scholarships. For example, almost all of the elementary schools in the area offer a scholarship to their alumni. Local American Legions and Chamber630 are other sources. Competition is local and often limited to a small group of people, making these scholarships more attainable. However, most of them are one-time awards.
Students may find these scholarships listed in SchooLinks or learn about them through specific community organizations or a parent's workplace.
National Scholarships
These scholarships are offered across the country--Burger King, McDonalds, Heisman, Coca Cola, Big Sun Athletics. More students apply, but the awards can be higher.
Students can find these scholarships using a simple internet search, but they can also use a scholarship search site. Complete the profile on any of the sites listed below and scholarship opportunities will flood your inbox. Be sure to check it!:)
College-Specific Scholarships
Colleges may offer merit scholarships that can be found on institutions' websites.
Students qualify for these based on test score and grade point average. The application for admission may be all that is needed to be considered. In other cases an additional application may be needed. Examples can be found below.
