Advanced Placement

The Advanced Placement Program, administered by The College Board, allows students to participate in college-level courses and possibly earn college credit while still in high school. Secondary schools and colleges cooperate in this program to give students the opportunity to show mastery in college-level courses by taking the AP exam in May of each school year.

Through college-level AP courses, you enter a universe of knowledge that might otherwise remain unexplored in high school; through AP Exams, you have the opportunity to earn credit or advanced standing at many of the nation's colleges and universities.

To determine whether or not you should take an examination, do the following now:
Consult with your teacher.
Find out about AP credit or advance standing policies at the college/university of your choice by checking the website or by calling the admissions office.

The 2027 AP examinations will be given Monday, May 3, 2027, through Friday, May 13, 2027. You are not considered absent from class during the time you are taking these exams. 

Fees

Full Year Course & First Semester/Fall Semester Courses Only

  • September 14 – November 2, 4:00pm: $103 per examination
  • November 2, 4:01pm - November 9, 4:00pm: $113 per examination (This fee includes a $10.00 late fee per exam)
  • After November 9: $143 per examination (This fee includes a $40.00 late fee per exam late fee) 

Spring Semester Courses Only

  • January 11 – March 1, 4:00pm: $103 per examination (Second Semester/Spring Courses Only)
  • March 1, 4:01pm- March 8: $113 per examination (This fee includes a $10.00 late fee per exam)
    • There is no guarantee that AP exams can be ordered after March 8.
    • College Board needs to approve order
  • After March 8: $143 per examination (This fee includes a $40.00 late fee per exam late fee) 

Registrations cannot be taken after March 15.

Refund Policy

For exams for courses beginning prior to Nov 9, 2026

We understand that on rare occasions students must cancel an exam. Here is our refund policy:

  • Students who cancel an exam by Monday, November 9, 2026 are entitled to a full refund of the exam fee.
  • Students who cancel an exam by March 1, 2027, 4:00pm are entitled to a refund of the exam fee minus any late fees and a cancellation fee of $40.00 (per exam).
  • After Monday, March 8, 2027 there are NO Refunds
  • Late fees are nonrefundable.

For exams for courses beginning after Nov 9, 2026

  • Students who cancel an exam by Monday, March 1, 2026 are entitled to a full refund of the exam fee.
