CLASS

 

The Library will be closed for AP Testing before school and during periods 1 – 8 through Friday, May 10. It will be open after school on these dates. It will also be closed for AP Testing all day (including before & after school) from Monday, May 13 through Thursday, May 16. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

 

Since ALL Library materials are due by Wednesday, May 22, please make an effort to return anything you may not need as soon as possible.  From May 6 through May 16, there will be bins outside the library door for you to return Library materials.

ACTIVITIES

 

Hello South, just two days left to purchase your "Kiss-a-Senior Goodbye!" congratulations. Cards and Hershey kisses will be sold for $1.00 in the cafeteria until Thursday.  Stop by and let your favorite senior or retiring teacher know you wish them well!  Cards will be delivered on Monday, May 13th.

 

Radio Club: Our regular monthly meeting is this Wednesday. We will be announcing the club awards and finalizing our plans for the car wash. This is our LAST meeting of the year, so make sure you are there!

 

The next Junior Statesmen of America Meeting will be today after school in D275.  All are welcome.

 

Attention Spanish, French and German and CIA club members: Come join us for our end of the year lawn party today afterschool in the outdoor patio next to the faculty cafeteria.    Enjoy hot dogs, snacks and desserts and compete against the other clubs in fun games with fabulous prizes. 

 

Calling all ladies looking to relate and talk about leadership, respect, power, relationships, and life in general.  Women's Empowerment Group is having their next meeting today at 3:30 in the Library/Distance Learning Center.  So grab a friend and come chat with us!  If you have any questions contact Ms. Jarosz (D170), Mrs. Pazdan(D274), or Ms. Roberts(D371A)

 

Do you like to work with others? Do you enjoy problem-solving? Are you intrigued by the ways people read, write and communicate? Then, think about becoming a Literacy Center Peer Tutor next year. Applications are available from your English teacher, or in B323. For questions, see Mr. Geocaris or Mrs. Skinner. Serve your DGS community, become a Peer Tutor.

 

Do you know that you need to be a reader if you want to be a leader?  Are you interested in learning how to achieve your full potential? If you answered yes, please sign up for the Hispanic Student Leadership Workshop on Friday, May 10 during 7th and 8th period in the little theater! Don’t miss out on this once in a life time experience to hear Dr. Betances, otherwise known as Dr. B speak at the Hispanic Student Leadership Workshop. Dr. B is a national speaker and the author of Winning the Future Through Education as well as other famous book titles. Please pick up a permission slip in A302. CIA Club Members:  Mark your calendar for Thursday, May 16thfor our end of the year cultural dinner celebration at Aodake Japanese restaurant after school.   Please see Mrs. Hud in room A102 for permission slips and further details.

 

ATHLETICS

 

GIRLS GOLF:  There will be a brief but MANDATORY MEETING for any girls interested in playing golf this coming fall. We will meet in room D178 at 7:25 am on Friday, May 10. If unable to attend, you MUST see Coach Mulay or Coach Bryant prior to Friday.  GO MUSTANGS!

 

Varsity Football Players – All Buffalo Wild Wing fundraiser money is past due. Please bring in your extra cards and money to Coach Molinari before or after school in the weight room Wednesday and Thursday.
