CLASS

 

The Library will be closed for AP Testing before school and during periods 1 – 8 TODAY through Friday, May 10. It will be open after school on these dates. It will also be closed for AP Testing all day (including before & after school) from Monday, May 13 through Thursday, May 16. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

 

Since ALL Library materials are due by Wednesday, May 22, please make an effort to return anything you may not need as soon as possible.  From May 6 through May 16, there will be bins outside the library door for you to return Library materials.

ACTIVITIES

 

Hey Mustangs are you AWARE? Mustangs AWARE will be meeting Tuesday morning at 7:30 in rm B125.  Join us and bring a friend ! Show you care become aware.

 

All Mad Dash and RUSH Corps Captains, Leaders, and Greeters are required to attend a training session on Tuesday, May 7thin the Auditorium at either 7:15 am or 3:30 pm. This training is mandatory! If you do not attend, it could affect your leadership position in Mad Dash. Contact Mrs. Bormann, Ms. Klug, or Mrs. Martinez with any questions.

 

Hey ALL DECA Members!  There is a DECA meeting tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. in the Little Theatre.  We're planning the trip to Great America.  Be there for details and ticket information.  We are also electing club officers next week.  Interested in being a DECA officer…make sure you email Ms. Polen by Thursday.  See you in the morning for DECA!

 

Attention Adventure Clubbers!  Our laser tag outing has been rescheduled for this coming Tuesday after school.  Pick up more information in D170 or email Ms. Jarosz for more information!  Be there or be square. 

 

Attention Freshmen, Sophomore, and Juniors: Have you seen our school's amazing OnKore Hip Hop Dance team this year at the school performances?  Would you be interested in joining the group?  If so, please meet us this upcoming Tuesday, May 7thin the cafeteria at 3:30 for a meeting about next school year. See you there!

 

Attention Spanish, French, German and CIA Club members: Come join us for our end of the year lawn party on Wednesday, May 8thafterschool in the outdoor patio next to the faculty cafeteria.    Enjoy hot dogs, snacks and desserts and compete against the other clubs in fun games with fabulous prizes.

 

Calling all ladies looking to relate and talk about leadership, respect, power, relationships, and life in general.  Women's Empowerment Group is having their next meeting on Wednesday, May 8that 3:30 in the Library/Distance Learning Center.  So grab a friend and come chat with us!  If you have any questions contact Ms. Jarosz (D170), Mrs. Pazdan(D274), or Ms. Roberts(D371A)

 

Do you know that you need to be a reader if you want to be a leader?  Are you interested in learning how to achieve your full potential? If you answered yes, please sign up for the Hispanic Student Leadership Workshop on Friday, May 10 during 7th and 8th period in the little theater! Don’t miss out on this once in a life time experience to hear Dr. Betances, otherwise known as Dr. B speak at the Hispanic Student Leadership Workshop. Dr. B is a national speaker and the author of Winning the Future Through Education as well as other famous book titles. Please pick up a permission slip in A302. Contact Mrs. Martinez if you have any questions.

 

Do you need service hours?  Would you like to help out a worthy cause?  Noah’s Hope Foundation’s 2013 RUN FOR HOPE will be held on May 19th, on the streets of Downers Grove around the O’Neill Middle School neighborhood.  The Run for Hope needs volunteers for many different areas, including:  Set-Up/Tear Down, Registration, Water Stations, Greeters & Timers. More information can be found on the bulletin board outside C149, or in C149 from Mrs. Ozga.

 

CIA Club Members:  Mark your calendar for Thursday, May 16thfor our end of the year cultural dinner celebration at Aodake Japanese restaurant after school.   Please see Mrs. Hud in room A102 for permission slips and further details.
