It's almost here ...the yearbook that is!  This is your last chance to pre-order a yearbook to still be able to pick it up on the May 20thdistribution date. To order, bring $45 cash or check to the student activities office or use a credit card by ordering online at www.jostens.com by the end of this week. Not sure if you ordered a yearbook? Check the list outside of the student activities office.

 

The Library will be closed for AP Testing all day, including before & after school) from Monday, May 13 through Thursday, May 16. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Since ALL Library materials are due by Wednesday, May 22, please make an effort to return anything you may not need as soon as possible. There will be bins outside the library doors for you to return your Library materials.

ACTIVITIES

 

Do you like to work with others? Do you enjoy problem-solving? Are you intrigued by the ways people read, write and communicate? Then, think about becoming a Literacy Center Peer Tutor next year. Applications are available from your English teacher, or in B323. For questions, see Mr. Geocaris or Mrs. Skinner. Serve your DGS community, become a Peer Tutor.

 

Come Step with us: There will be a brief MEETING for any girls interested in becoming a DGS Stepper this coming fall. We will meet in the cafetorium at 3:25 pm on Monday, May 13th. If you are unable to attend, you MUST see Coach Dees or Coach Thigpen.  GO MUSTANGS!

 

Hey ALL DECA members!  DECA meeting Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. in the Little Theatre.  We are electing officers for next year at Tuesday's DECA meeting, discussing the end-of-year party, and seeing a very important and valuable message for written projects next year.  See you all in the Little Theatre Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. for the business of DECA!

 

Attention Adventure Club!  We will have our last meeting of the year this Tuesday after school in room D183.  Bring your calendars and a friend b/c we will be planning our last outing for the year.  See you there.  Ms. Jarosz! 

 

The next Junior Statesmen of America Meeting will be Wednesday, after school in D275.  We are holding our elections for next year's officers.  Make sure you come and vote!

 

CIA Club Members:  Mark your calendar for Thursday, May 16thfor our end of the year cultural dinner celebration at Aodake Japanese restaurant after school.   Please see Mrs. Hud in room A102 for permission slips and further details.

 

To all speech, theatre, drama club, thespians, or tech crew:  It's time for our annual banquet celebration, and we need your forms! Please turn in forms and money to Ms. Carreno or Ms. Rubin asap to ensure your spot! We cannot accept anything past the 15th.  More forms can be found outside D175. Come see Ms. Carreno or Ms. Rubin for questions.

 

Do you need service hours?  Would you like to help out a worthy cause?  Noah’s Hope Foundation’s 2013 RUN FOR HOPE will be held on May 19th, on the streets of Downers Grove around the O’Neill Middle School neighborhood.  The Run for Hope needs volunteers for many different areas, including:  Set-Up/Tear Down, Registration, Water Stations, Greeters & Timers.  More information can be found on the bulletin board outside C149, or in C149 from Mrs. Ozga.
